FORMULARY:  2% Salicylic Acid Cream

This cream is a beta-hydroxy acid cream, great for cell turnover or renewal of skin.   It moisturizes while it exfoliates the skin.  The salicylic acid in this formula is at 2% but it could be decreased to 1% for milder exfoliation (adjustment to neutralizer may be required).

Instructions

  1. Combine ingredients of Part A with mixing in a microwavable container.
  2. Combine ingredients of Part B in a separate microwavable container.
  3. Heat both Part A and Part B to 80°C/176°F.
  4. At 80°C/176°F, add Part B to Part A with mixing.
  5. Cool to 50°C/122°F and add Part C with mixing.
  6. Add Part D with mixing.
  7. Continue cooling to 40°C/104°F and add Part E with mixing.
  8. Cool to room temperature.
