FORMULARY:  FACIAL CLEANSER WITH 1% SALICYLIC ACID

This formulation provides a clear liquid facial cleanser with 1% salicylic acid.  The cleanser has excellent foaming and wetting properties.

Instructions

  1. Heat Distilled to 70C (158F).
  2. Add Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose and mix until all particles are wetted.
  3. Cool to room temperature while adding the remainder of the distilled water.
  4. Mix until solution is clear and particle free.
  5. Add remainder of ingredients of Part B, mixing well after each addition.
  6. Premix propylene glycol and salicylic acid until uniform & clear
  7. Add Part C to batch with mixing
  8. Add Part D to batch with mixing.
     

 

Fragrance and dye can be added if desired.
